what I think about proposition 8

Proposition 8 is an initiative state constitutional amendment on the 2008 California General Election ballot, titled Eliminates Right of Same-Sex Couples to Marry. If passed, the proposition would "change the California Constitution to eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry in California. A new section would be added stating "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California."

I think everyone has the right to be with the person they love, even someone who is the same sex. However, Genesis 2 reminds us that God brought Eve to Adam, in every way officiating over the first wedding. God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. Saying yes on proposition 8 protects our children from being taught in school that "same-sex marriage" is the same as traditional marriage. What concerns me is how schools are FORCED to teach 5 year old children about gay marriage and parents have no say in the matter. I wouldnt know how to explain to my kids when they saw 2 men holding hands together before they go to school.

Gay and lesbian couples have the right to live the lifestyle they want. But they cant force us to believe what they believe. Furthermore, proposition 8 doesn’t take away any rights or benefits of gay or lesbian domestic partnerships. Under California law, “domestic partners shall have the same rights, protections, and benefits” as married spouses. (Family Code § 297.5.)

Proposition 8 is designed to protect our future generation and society that we are living in. God did not design humans to get married with animals. Our world even with all different cultures, languages, and such it is still marriage between man and woman. However, while gay and lesbian have the right to their private lives, they dont have to right to redefine the definition of marriage for the majority. Yes on proposition 8! This is not a gay rights issue. It defines only marriage.
